Barranca Elementary School's Library Media Center is the hub of learning. The center is fully automated, housing a vast collection of literature, reference and resource materials. Students have access to project-based learning in the presentation, research and exploration, publication and listening centers where computers, scanners, printers, photo/video cameras, projectors, electronic microscopes and probes, and books-on-tape are available. The computer lab provides edcuational opportunities through 34 Internet-ready eMacs. Students visit the Library Media Center once a week with their class. The center is open before and after school and during morning recess.

The Covina-Valley Unified School District will continue to have a mandatory school uniform policy. The basic uniform will consist of solid navy blue or tan pants, shorts, jumpers or skirts. In addition to school spirit shirts and white polo shirts, red and navy blue polo shirts will be allowed. The following are not acceptable: jeans, stripes on pants, sleeveless tops, t-shirts, oversized baggy clothing and clothing considered to be gang related.
Covina-Valley Unified School District offers Kids' Korner Extended Day Child Care Enrichment Program at Barranca School. This is an after school day care program that features enrichment opportunities. Kids' Korner is open from 6:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. each day school is in session and on designated student holidays. The program offers a variety of activities that are designed to complement and enhance classroom instruction. Please contact the Kids' Korner office at 626-974-4020 for more information.
Barranca’s PTA conducts their membership drive throughout the school year. I encourage you to join this organization to support our students and staff members. Together, all of us can provide an enriching school environment for our students.
