It is a privilege to have opportunities to give back in this life. As we grow older and wiser, we have a better understanding of how important small acts of kindness can be. We encourage seniors to look for ways to impact the world for the greater good, utilizing the talents and skills you have at your disposal.

Companion Hospice Care is now recruiting volunteers for their upcoming training program.

Volunteers sometimes become a needed friend to someone during the last part of their journey. Volunteers can also relieve tired caregivers and family members for short periods of time, or help with errands and shopping.

Assignments will be in your geographical area. Recruiting for this vital service is an important component of organized hospice services.

Hospice is designed to promote quality of life and comfort measures for those with terminal conditions.

Each volunteer applicant will receive 16 hours of orientation and training from the Companion Hospice Care team of professionals.

The training program will be held on Saturdays, September 12th, September 19th, September 26th and October 3rd, 2009. Please check on times.

Conveniently located off the 605 Freeway or Lakewood Blvd at 8130 Florence Ave, Suite 200, Downey, CA 90240. There is also a class available in the San Gabriel Valley area.

Call today and prepare yourself for the opportunity to make a real difference in someone’s life.

There are also volunteer positions available in the office, which does not require attending the Patient Care Training Class.

To learn more, contact Deanna Miles, Coordinator of Volunteers at (562) 944- 2711 or you can email her at deannam@companionhospice.com.

Schedule appointment by calling Monday through Thursday from 8:30 AM to noon at (626) 685-6727. Volunteers Needed: If you are interested in becoming a volunteer and giving back to the community, please contact Bobbie Brooks, Program Coordinator, at the number above.
