Evaluation of Protective Cases

Various cases are available for Pocket PC's to provide them protection from environmental conditions. San Dimas will be testing three cases in our environmental chamber to determine how they withstand moisture, heat and cold.

RAIN TEST
30 Minutes duration
  • No moisture entered case during test.
  • When the case was opened, water that collected around case entered.
  • No moisture entered case.
  • Water entered case on first test.
  • This test was repeated with another case and no water entered the case.
  • FLOAT TEST
    Cases were placed in standing
    water for 15 minutes.
  • Case remained above water.
  • No water entered case.
  • Case remained above water.
  • No water entered case.
  • Case remained above water.
  • Water did enter case.
  • SUBMERSION TEST
    Cases were placed under
    water for 15 minutes.
  • No water entered case.
  • No water entered case.
  • Large amounts of water entered case.

    Test results will be posted as each test is completed. Cases will be retested for moisture protection after temperature tests are complete.
